Victorian Rosewood rocking chair, Civil War Vintage. Rocker is located in Livingston, TN. This rare and unique 1850's rosewood "Lincoln Rocker" is fully upholstered, with the original style tufted back. The top of the back is carved with a lovely, simple and elegant rose design. It came originally from one of the best stores in New York City, and has been in my family for several generations.

It has been lovingly cared for and is in near-perfect condition, having been re-upholstered in a lovely soft green velvet several years ago with a fully tufted back, as it was when it was new. Unlike many Victorian chairs, this one is very comfortable to sit in.

It would make a stunning statement in a nursery, and be very useful for rocking and feeding baby as well. Or picture yourself reading in a sunny library or next to a fireplace. Hard to find rockers that are this comfortable, and with this quality wood and upholstery at this price. Footstool in photo is not vintage; it is an Ethan Allen. Inclusion with the rocker is negotiable. The item "Rosewood Lincoln rocking chair, Victorian, Civil War Vintage" is in sale since Saturday, March 30, 2019.
